Is ending a project an option that is taken into account? There are situations when projects are not feasible anymore, many of them outside of the project team's control. These include political situations, power shifts within the organization, market changes, objectives that are no longer valid, and costs that exceed the benefits. In cases like these, after careful analysis we would recommend ending a project. Do you replace the project manager or/and the project team? No, we try to avoid this. Usually there is lot of knowledge within the project team, that makes replacing less effective then keeping the team in place and putting it back on track. As a party that is new and neutral to the existing relationships, we provide an outside perspective. Our neutrality allows us to build back the trust between the client and the team. Are you working with any specific project and software development methodology? We utilize our proprietary Redpoint Project Recovery methodology as a flexible umbrella framework over the project. The organization's project and software development methodology stay intact during the process of recovery, unless we find out that this is a key problem that is causing the project to fail. Usually this is not the case. Do you prefer some methodologies above others? We are methodology agnostic, though some methodologies are more suitable then others.
